GTMA Fastool Project - latest news
Fastool is the 3 year collaborative research initiative aimed at improving the productivity and competitiveness of European mould toolmakers, through advances in knowledge-based NC programming, automation and lean manufacturing. It also aims to improve the career appeal of toolmaking to a new generation of engineers. It is a European collaboration involving the GTMA (UK), the CRDM (UK), NC-Geselschaft e.V. (D), Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. - FhG-IPT (D), Verenigde Metaalunie, Mould & Dies Industry (NL), TNO (NL), ASCAMM (E) and Fundacion Fatronik (E). Now in its second year, the project s real potential is becoming clear. HBC Engineering Solutions play an active role and have committed significant resources.
